Details of v6.0 can be found here.  You can also download the What's New in v6.0 PDF and the v6.0 README.

Avid has announced the release of Media Composer v6.0 and Symphony v6.0

This release was rewritten from the ground up to support 64-bit, a new open I/O framework allowing for additional 3rd party support, the Avid Marketplace, stereoscopic 3D editing enhancements, a redesigned user interface, and more.

Details of v6.0 can be found here.  You can also download the What's New in v6.0 PDF and the v6.0 README.

Also important to note that Avid FX, Sorenson Squeeze, and Avid DVD (PC only) will be included in all Media Composer and Symphony upgrades. To get license codes for those programs, please go here.  NOTE: Boris Continuum Complete will not longer be bundled with Media Composer software, but special pricing for BCC8 (required for v6.0) will be available from Boris.

This release is supported on OS X Lion 10.7.1 and 10.7.2.  For supported shared storage and co-install environments, please refer to the README.

**IMPORTANT: Compatible Sony and Canon AMA plug-ins are not yet available but will be coming soon from Sony and Canon (likely January 2012).  Those who use AMA plug-ins from those manufacturers might want to hold off on installing v6.0 until they release 64-bit versions.
