NEW - Media Composer 5 - Getting Started
&
Intro to Smart Tool &
Webinars
One neat thing about Avid Media Composer Training - there
is lots of it, it's good, most of it is free, and it is easy to find - and
you can buy it too.
Must Reads: 1. The Avid Forum -
Avid Media Composer
If you click on and monitor the "Active" link on the Forum home page,
you will see posts made IN ALL FORUMS in chronological order, newest to
oldest.
2. Point me to the
Tutorials (part of the MC Liquid Forum) 3.

Webinars with Avid video evangelist Matt Feury
With the
new features in Media Composer 5, such as the Smart Tool and linked
segment selections, you can now choose how you want to work based on the
task at hand. But that just scratches the surface of all that's
possible. In our September 1, 2010 live webinar I'll show you an
in-depth look at these new approaches to the Media Composer timeline.

One-Step Prelap — posted by steve cohen Most
people create overlap cuts (split edits) in a two-step process, making a
straight cut first and then overlapping it by trimming one element. But
there’s a hidden, one-step way to do it that you may not know about. It
only works at the end of your sequence, but that makes it appropriate
when you’re creating a first assembly and adding to the end of a growing
timeline. This short video (3:15) shows you how to do it.

Avid Marquee Title Tool
Although it’s primarily relied upon for creating motion titles
and graphics in 3D space, Avid® Marquee® can also make quick work of
still graphics and titles. One example of this is the creation of
